Elango is a talented entrepreneur with a robust foundation in Physics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering. His innovative work in microscopy, bolstered by his deep comprehension of customer needs, has made a significant impact in the biomedical and life science research domains. He holds a Master’s in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s in Physics, showcasing his interdisciplinary expertise.

At the University of Virginia, Elango’s research contributions were substantial, evidenced by 12 international publications in Microscopy and Spectroscopy. His role at the W.M. Keck Center for Cellular Imaging, where he collaborated closely with his advisor, was pivotal in managing the facility’s complex imaging needs.

Elango’s career trajectory includes pivotal roles at Bio-Rad Laboratories and Carl Zeiss Inc., where as a Product Specialist, he became renowned for his mastery in advanced microscopy techniques, including Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS), and FRET, earning him the reputation as the ‘go-to’ expert in these cutting-edge technologies.

Varun Surana
Chief Technical Officer

At Idea Elan, we are committed to staying ahead in the ever-evolving world of technology. Our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Varun Surana, leads this charge, whose vision and expertise drive the technical direction and innovation that fuels our growth.

A Master’s in Computer Science from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, he has a wealth of experience in software development, system architecture, Integrations, and digital transformation. He has been pivotal in shaping the company’s technological strategy for the past 14 years.

As the head of technology at Idea Elan, he leads the development and execution of our long-term technology vision. He is responsible for aligning our tech initiatives with business goals to ensure we remain at the forefront of the industry. He brings a culture of innovation by overseeing research and development, integrating the latest technological trends and breakthroughs into our offerings. From AI to cloud computing and cybersecurity, he ensures we remain agile and adaptable in the face of emerging challenges. Jolene Friedman is an experienced Project Manager specializing in customer relationship management. With 15 years of expertise and a Bachelor of Science from The University of Toledo, she excels in onboarding complex, institution-wide customers by effectively coordinating between customers and internal support teams. Jolene thrives in collaborative environments and approaches challenges with creative and practical solutions.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and has been a dedicated Senior Project Manager at Idea Elan for the past 12 years. He brings significant value to both customers and the team by employing a customer-centric and team-driven approach. Specializing in Financial Integrations, API Integrations, Security Compliance, and SSO, he supports customers worldwide across different time zones. Additionally, he plays a key role in hiring talented tech professionals and ensures the team maintains a healthy work-life balance. By maintaining open lines of communication, he keeps customers informed about project progress, updates, and potential issues, thereby fostering trust and transparency. His efficient project management guarantees on-time delivery, aiding customers in planning their go-live dates as scheduled.

Venkat Ramnath
Director

Is the Director, Quality & Mission Success for Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors (MS2) based in Baltimore, MD. In this role, he is responsible for all elements of process, product, and program quality assurance across the MS2 Maritime Security & Ship Systems Line of Business. Additionally, Venkat is responsible for Mission Success and Lean/Six Sigma activities across the enterprise. Venkat has over 25 years of engineering and program management experience in the U.S. aerospace industry. Venkat’s prior assignment was the Director of Quality & Missions Success for MS2 Tactical Systems based in Eagan, MN. Prior to joining MS2, he was a Lean & Six Sigma Subject Matter Expert for the Corporate LM21 organization. In this role he was responsible for implementing and leading Lean & Six Sigma activities across Lockheed Martin for new business pursuits, product development and operation.

Bala Balasubramanian
CEO of J&B Software, Inc

Has a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from India. He started his own Software Company, J&B Software, Inc. at 26 and was CEO of his company for over 25 years. The company developed financial transaction management software (TMS) and it was implemented by the US Federal Govt., 20 different US State govt. entities. Also most of the large US banking and financial transaction management software (TMS) and it was implemented by the US Federal Govt., 20 different US State govt. entities. Also most of the large US banking and financial institutions have implemented the TMS software. The company employed well over 400 people in the US, India, and other countries. The company was listed as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in Philadelphia for four straight years. The company also received the honor of one of 500 fastest growing companies in the country, by Inc. 500. Bala received the Council of Indian Organizations Professional Excellence award in Philadelphia, among many other awards.
